Sean Walbran sean(at)walbran.org and Marvin Stodolsky stodolsk(at)erols.com

v0.41, 13 December 2000

This document describes Linmodem (winmodem hardware) support under Linux. At this point, such support is very limited, almost exclusively in the form of manufacturer-created but unsupported binary kernel modules. This document addresses the special complications dealing with these binary modules rather than with source code, particularly focusing on the compromises of using mis-matched binaries and kernels.

1. Introduction

2. Linmodems

3. General Setup and Kernel Module Issues

4. Tips and Tricks for Precompiled Modules with different Kernel Versions

5. Specific Chipsets and Their Drivers
